Your Profile Page Just Got Better
The Profile page has had a spring clean. Faster loading, better-looking posts, and everything you do now shows up in the team feed and Discord. Here is what changed and how to make the most of it.
What Changed
No more demo content flash. Previously when you loaded the profile page, you would briefly see a placeholder person called "John Smith" before your actual profile appeared. That fake content is gone -- the page now loads clean with your real data from the start.
Photos match video width. If you posted a YouTube video and then a set of photos, the photos used to render narrower than the video above them. They now fill the same width, so your feed looks consistent and polished.
Posts appear in the ticker. When you create a new post, it automatically appears in the header news ticker for the next 7 days. Everyone on the team will see a brief summary scroll past.
Posts notify on Discord. New posts and mentions now appear in the admin-notifications Discord channel. If someone tags you, you will get an actual Discord ping on your phone or desktop. No more missing things because you were not looking at the admin site at the right moment.
How to Use Your Profile
Viewing Your Profile
Click PROFILE in the sidebar (or click your name in the top-left dropdown). You will see your profile photo, your name, your location (auto-detected), and your posts.
Creating a Post
- Click the CREATE tab (the plus icon at the top of the profile content area)
- Give it a title (optional but recommended -- it shows up in the feed and ticker)
- Write your content in the editor -- you can format text, paste links, and embed YouTube videos by pasting the URL directly
- Attach photos or videos using the Media upload field (up to 50MB each)
- Hit Create Post
Your post immediately appears in your feed, the team ticker, and Discord.
The Feed
The right-hand sidebar shows THE FEED -- recent posts from everyone on the team. Click any item to open it in a full modal with the original post, media, and comments.
You can filter the feed:
- All -- everything from everyone
- Announcements -- posts from the DSW org account
- Reggie only -- posts from yours truly
Use the gear icon to adjust feed size (Small, Medium, Large) depending on how much you want to see.
Browsing Profiles
Click the PROFILES tab to see a card grid of everyone on the team. Each card shows their photo, name, and post count. Click any card to jump to their profile and see what they have been sharing.
Interacting with Posts
Every post has three actions at the bottom:
- LIKE -- click to like, hover to see who else liked it. Click again to unlike.
- COMMENTS -- click to expand the comments section. Type a comment and hit send. You can edit or delete your own comments.
- SHARE -- copies a direct link to that post to your clipboard. Send it to someone in chat or paste it anywhere.
Photos and Videos Tabs
Your PHOTOS and VIDEOS tabs automatically collect all media from your posts. No need to upload separately -- if you attached images or videos to a post, they appear in these galleries too.
Tips
- YouTube embeds: Just paste a YouTube URL into the post editor. It automatically converts to an embedded player.
- Mentions: If you mention someone in a post or comment, they get notified both in-app and on Discord.
- Other profiles: Click any team member in the left sidebar or the Profiles tab to view their posts. You cannot create posts on someone else's profile (only your own).
- Deep links: Every post has a shareable URL. If someone sends you a profile link with
#post=xyz, it opens that specific post in a modal automatically.
Go explore -- click Profile, make a post, browse the feed, leave a comment. The more the team uses it, the better it gets.
